This activity is led by the direction and supported by researchers, who, within their respective areas and work, actively collaborate in inter-institutional research teams.
This activity is particularly illustrated by:
- Regular meetings of the research centers' directors, presided over and led by the IRDP's director. This group works towards current research coordination and ensures information flow. It attempts to anticipate the decision-makers' needs and sets about the realization of conclusions and analysis which facilitate debates and decision-making.
- The IRDP's permanent mission of research coordination within the Suisse Romande by ensuring the scientific functioning within the CRE – Conseil de la Recherche en Education (education research board) of the CIIP.
- The responsibility of working out an organizational concept of research in the teacher training colleges (Hautes Ecoles Pedagogiques – HEP) and the creation of an HEP research coordinators' group in which the IRDP regularly takes part.
- The drawing up of reference principles for the constitution of research consortiums initiated by the IRDP.
- The working out of co-operation agreements with partner research institutions at a regional, national and international level.
At the Swiss level, the IRDP represents the CIIP in numerous task groups and commissions. The director belongs to the office of the CODICRE (Conférence des Directeurs/Directrices de Centres de développement scolaire et de Recherche en Education- education research centers' directors' conference) and is member of the committee of the SSRE (The Swiss Society for Research in Education) and was president from 2006 to 2009.
